End of Game Statements

Knowing that would be both captain and player, and that I would get married in the final part of the game, I choose to play Turkey: little diplomacy to make, don´t make mistakes and you will survive until the end.
My strategy would be secure my home space and vital spaces, without confronting too much, and the see how the game goes.
I got this by the end of 1904. For further expansion I had to choose between Russia or Italy.
An attack to Russia was very diffcult, since he had no pressure in the North, and was really pissed of by my army in Sev. With luck, I could get Mos, but beyond that point, Pete would turn unbreakable.
Italy looked somewhat easier, with many points of attack by land and sea. But Angelo was the board player most open to diplomating and an attack on him would be mostly on my own.
At this time I regreted having eliminated John (Austria) so quickly.
Years passed with no success in either way. I looked for foreign help on any of them with no results:
Brian (England) showed no intentions at all of attacking Russia, and delayed help with childish excuses.
Quentin (France) could be helpful against Italy but he cut almost all communication after 1902.
Nicolas (Germany) could have helped somewhat, but he was being strained by England and Russia before we were able to help each other.
By 1909 it was clear that Italy, Russia and England had a bigger arrangement and they would not attack each other while other enemies still lived.
Angelo and I has stabbed each other so many times that there was no mor place for trust. Meanwhile, Pete was advancing southwards without any diplomacy going on, nor any chance to negotiate a truce.
Max had to cover me for a turn and, since he had better response from Russia than I had, he kept playing until 1911.
We had to slowly receed in both fronts, trying to avoid any gap (I guess that our fleet staying in Arm in A1910 really dissapointed Pete).
We secured our homeland and in the last turn, Brian asked for a little help in Tun which we granted, since he really deserved it.

Congratulations to Brian for a great win.
Thanks to him, Pete, Angelo, John and Nicolas for making it a though game, and also thanks to Max for taking over the game.

Guys.. just realised I never entered an EOG.. and I should (even if no one actually reads it).I enjoyed this game for the most part..
I started with no set allies and no idea which direction to go in and for a while I was in a lot of trouble. England had me on the ropes early on but a Ska bounce managed to turn the tables on him a quielty/subtley change the course of the game. Not sure if anyone else spotted it but from that point I moved from "in trouble" to "strong" in the north. I still wasnt sure who to work with up there and for a long time I wanted to work with Germany but his demands just made it impossible.. But both Eng & Ger had great strategic ability.. I was lucky to find a path through.
In the south the situation was even worse.. I warmed to Fang early on but then Craig & Vince started talking about a 3 way RTA alliance.. but I couldnt see how it could work. Craig seemed like a really nice guy, Vince seemed like an evil strategist but he was a great collegue to bounce ideas off.. I just couldnt see how a 3 way would work and I quietly tried to convince either of them to help me against the 3rd.. in the end Craig forced my hand by first an attempted stab in Rum, but then insisting on me sending a fleet to fight his wars for him and me having to be reliant on his help for the rest of the game.. I was forced to stab and RA was on.. all worked out fine until Vince was replaced by his team and it got ugly. Next Ally was France and I loved working with Kevin.. great strategist and a fine ally but that all fell to pieces when meta gaiming kicked in, Kevin dropped out and I was forced to push for the win. Fang you drifted away at the end.. I wish you well and hope our paths cross again. Thank you all.. messy at the end but I met some great people.
